As a landscape photographer with a penchant for capturing the rugged beauty of our world, my recent stay at Green Palace in Thanjavur offered me a serene environment, though it came with certain compromises. The landscape is indeed peaceful, perfect for a quiet retreat; however, the hotel is quite distant from city attractions and essential amenities. The accommodation itself was clean, with ample space for 5 to 6 people across three rooms. Unfortunately, despite the comfortable furnishings and efficient 24-hour reception, the lack of adequate water supply and the shared toilet facilities detracted from the overall experience. Though pet-friendly, the hotel needs to address its housekeeping standards, especially in the bathrooms, which left much to be desired. Dining options were limited, with reasonable dinner offerings but no complimentary breakfast. Guests will find it essential to weigh the value and comforts provided against the overall distance from local conveniences, particularly if a more luxurious experience is a priority. Green Palace presents an interesting value proposition, but potential guests should certainly consider their priorities, especially regarding accessibility and amenities.
